Me and Plant Medicines
The story of why I stand behind the use of plant medicines for healing. I remember a time when life had not made much sense to me. I had gotten caught in the cycle of addiction, and I could not get out of it and the pain and suffering I had stacked up for myself and my family. It seemed beyond repair.
Cacao
The history of cacao is very long and somewhat disputed, but there is evidence to suggest that cacao has been fermented and served as a drink since 1900 BC. Cacao was cultivated and consumed by the Olmecs, the Mayans and the Aztecs with significant differences in customary uses from culture to culture.
Saffron
Saffron is a spice derived from the dried stigmas of Crocus Sativus Linné, which been used and valued throughout history and has remained among the world’s costliest substances. The stigmas (threads) of around 100,000 flowers are required to make a single kilo of pure dried saffron; making it more valuable than its weight in gold.
Sacred Fires
Sacred Space and Fire are a part of the ethnic and cultural heritage of all people. Calling the corners, opening circle and appreciation of the ‘Spirit Beyond the Sun’ in celebration belongs to all cultures; although we have different rituals there is so much overlap.
