Hello, I am Shaura. My journey into wholeness began in 2004 when I found myself in a Native American sweat lodge in Oregon. I was lucky to have found my first spiritual community and my connection to them has remained over the years. My time spent in the ceremonial world and the completion of a four year commitment to our sundance ceremony influences every aspect of my life and work on this planet.
In 2005 in the UK I learnt how to practice Reiki for self-healing, two years later I realised that I would learn to pass this knowledge onto others. Around the same time I started to practice kundalini yoga; this facilitated great personal shifts within me. I taught my first class early in 2007 and I have been a continuous student ever since.
In 2011 I enrolled onto a yoga therapy training with the Minded Institute and this process ignited my passion for science. I was invited to join the team as student supervisor and philosophy lecturer, the later encouraged me to attend many more training courses, all of which inform my work today.
After creating the Pilamaya Yoga 300 Hour Teacher Training course I became an approved training provider with Yoga Alliance. The courses I have written tend to reflect my personal understanding of the material and energetic worlds married by a more newly acquired grasp of the biological processes that govern life.
As a certified Senior Yoga Teacher and Teacher Trainer with Yoga Alliance Professionals, I teach and work with Hatha, Kundalini, and Yin Yoga, as well as mindfulness, meditation and Yoga Nidra practices.
I became an accredited Yoga Therapist C-IAYT after training with the Minded Institute in 2011. As a collaborator, I developed the ground-breaking Yoga Therapy for Addictions Continuing Professional Development training. I hold a certificate in Supervision. In July 2021 I will be ordained a OneSpirit Interfaith Minister. I am also studying for a diploma in Neurosomatic Psychotherapy.
In the recent years I have been called to revisit the plant kingdom to make relationships with those that wish to assist with the human awakening process.
It is in this realm of expansion that this work continues to grow.
