Reiki and Energy Healing Course
Level One – Self Heal – 11th-12th November 2023
Discovering how to channel Reiki is possibly the biggest gift a person can give to themselves and others. In these modern times, our communities are calling out for multidimensional healers, such as those who get drawn to energy healing. This Reiki and energy healing course welcomes people into a transcendental journey of self-integration and connects us to the healing realm. Our work together draws us into the realm of Spirit, and we are attuned to the forces of healing that support humanity.
The methodology combines techniques from Seichem Reiki, an internationally recognised craft, the yogic arts and practices specific to this offering. It additionally incorporates a neurobiological and psychological understanding of how mind, body and emotions function in this physical realm. Thus, the student of healing is introduced to the many layers of reality, explores how healing and disease manifest in the present moment and remain open to differing viewpoints.
A Brief History of Reiki
At the end of the 19th century, a Japanese scholar, Mikaomi Usui, was inspired to use a hands-on healing method. He is reputed to have been a scholar interested in psychology, medicine, history, and the major religions. It is common for those seeking spiritual guidance to take themselves to remote places that have power for fasting and prayer. Usi is said to have taken 21 days to sit alone on Mount Kurama. According to translator Hyakuten Inamoto, the information for Reiki was given to him by Spirit while he was on the hill.

Usui called the healing energy Reiki (pronounced ray-key), meaning Universal Life Energy in Japanese. Reiki has no association with religion, faith or belief systems and benefits physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Seichem (pronounced say-keem) is reputedly one of the healing arts practised in ancient Egypt. Patrick Zeigler rediscovered it in 1980 while visiting Egypt and after spending the night in the King’s Chamber of the Great Pyramid. While Reiki is associated with the earth’s overall energy and wisdom (Madre Tierra or Pachamama), Seichem also channels the other three elements of water, air, and fire.
Shaura's Reiki History
Shaura first became attuned to Seichem Reiki energy in 2006; since then, she has shared her practice as a healer and master teacher with whoever wishes to learn. She has been taught by two different reiki Masters. She was also blessed to receive another energy called Lazlight in 2018, and this energy activates the healer’s breath and connects to the forces of the four directions.
Over the years, Shaura has continued learning about how our bodies, breath and energy bodies function. Reiki training with her benefits from the knowledge she has gained from Yoga Therapy, Psychotherapy and her rich ceremonial life of prayer.mShe shares practices and techniques from these traditions to help people get the best out of the training. Each training weekend includes attunements that open the channels for Reiki to come through. She sees this as more of an awakening of symbols containing reams of information. Once activated, they will continue to change the initiate’s physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies.
What to Expect
Training events are always unique to each cohort; we may spend time in a circle, discussing what is present for the members, and practice some yoga or meditation in preparation for the attunements. Once initiated, the group share reiki with each other and learn how it feels for them.
In general Reiki energy will go where it needs to go for healing something physical or integration of material stored in distant places in the psyche, which can show up as imagery or emotions. Healing energy can feel hot or cold, and there may be tingling sensations. Some people feel relaxed and may even fall asleep; others talk about their feelings. The treatment also affects the subtler aspects of the energy system, which may not be as apparent to the client or practitioner. Generally, a sense of peace or calm settles, indicating that multi-dimensional work is underway.
On the training the group gets used to giving reiki and receiving feedback from other participants.
