Yoga Nidra for Mental Health
Yoga Nidra is a multilayered adaptogenic practice that can be curated to fit all those who wish to dive into the experience. For years Shaura has specialised in offering it for mental health and has been teaching it as part of her more extensive training programmes.
In response to the surge in mental health issues and addictive behaviours emerging due to the current international health crisis, she is offering a 4 hour professional training in her unique methodology, to help professionals effectively support their clients.
Yoga Nidra, translated into English as Yogic Sleep is a wonderful way for people to relax and transform their minds at the deepest level.
Arising from the ancient practice of Nyasa, meaning ‘to place’,Yoga Nidra holds huge potential for physiological regulation and psychological integration – especially if it is created and delivered from a neurologically informed place.
During this short course with The Minded Institute, Shaura will share a lecture on the yogic perspective of mind, psychobiological effects of Yoga Nidra, explain how this practice can be used to develop embodied awareness, and strengthen the vulnerable mind. This will be followed by guidance practice and a plenary discussion on that will include: how to teach Yoga Nidra online, how to tailor the practice to individual need, and how to apply aspects of Yoga Nidra to other relaxation based practices.
