Hello, I am Shaura. My journey into wholeness began in 2004 when I found myself in a Native American sweat lodge in Oregon. I was lucky to have found my first spiritual community and my connection to them has remained over the years. In the UK I began practicing and teaching kundalini yoga; this facilitated great personal shifts within me.
After a time I enrolled onto a yoga therapy training with the Minded Institute and this process ignited my passion for science. I was invited to join the team as student supervisor and philosophy lecturer and attended many more training courses, all of which inform my work today. After creating the Pilamaya 220 TTC I became an approved training provider with Yoga Alliance. The courses I have written tend to reflect my personal understanding of the gross and energetic world married by a more newly acquired grasp of the biological processes that govern life.

Hello, my name is Rae. I am the creative eye for The Yogologist. Three years ago, while studying Journalism at the University of Sheffield, I began my journey with yoga and found a teacher in Shaura. I now manage all media platforms and content for The Yogologist and am a personal assistant to Shaura. I love to travel, enjoy good food and am a friend to animals. In 2017, I will take Yogologie on the road as I backpack across south and southeast Asia. You can follow my journey through our social media pages or with #yogologietravels.
I specialise in Creative Media Production, from to social media to photography, and strive to graciously bridge the gap between digital marketing and the world of yoga that is often (thankfully) far removed from the chaos of modern technology. I am always looking for new and exciting projects, so please contact me if you are interested in working together.
Hello – my name is Gail, and my role is to act as coach and mentor to the Yogologie Team. I have been practicing yoga on and off for well over 20 years; in 2014 my love affair with yoga was rekindled and I was fortunate enough to meet, practice and start studying with Shaura, completing the Pilamaya Teacher Training course in June 2016.
I am a minded hatha yoga practitioner and entrepreneur; blending together my experience of the commercial world with my skills as a hatha yoga teacher, mindfulness practitioner and coach. I work with people on a personalised one to one basis, as well as in small groups, empowering them to find the breathing space and make a change for the better.
We believe in
An all-encompassing approach to education; the union of both Eastern and Western traditions, fluidity in the philosophies of differing schools of yoga, and the powerful alliance between the biological and spiritual dimensions of the human being.
With true reverence to the intelligence of the human body and the magic that can be raised through yoga and pranayama (the breath), we believe in your practice.
In Yogologie, we know that every practice – like every body – is unique, and we honour that.
Through a process of learning, commitment and empowerment, every individual holds the capacity to transform, to raise their vibration, to realise their potential and make a positive contribution to our world. We believe in human beings. We believe in you.
